WHY HEAVY MAKEUP IS A KILLER WHEN YOU WEAR EYELASH EXTENSIONS

Published on 22 October 2021 at 21:08

Since eyelash extensions are a feature that enhances natural beauty, we thought it would be a good idea to express our thoughts and knowledge towards heavy makeup while wearing eyelash extensions.

1. WHY DO WE WEAR EXTENSIONS

Eyelash extensions add volume to the natural lash line and correct minor imperfections, such as hooded eyes, wide eyes, narrow eyes and asymmetrical eyes.
Eyelash extensions can lift the face and make people appear more youthful, enhancing natural beauty without makeup. Therefore the use of heavy makeup isn't necessary.

2. RISK OF WEARING HEAVY MAKEUP WITH EYELASH EXTENSIONS

When you wear eyelash extensions, you'll enhance the beauty and colour of your eyes, automatically adding a bit of drama because we all like everything to be a little extra: Extra Dark, Extra Curly, etc. However, some beauty products can damage your extensions and affect retention.

Eyelash extensions are sensitive to oil, and products based on oil can cause the glue to break down, so you should always look for oil-free makeup products, removers, and daily skin regimens that are oil-free or with the lowest possible oil content.

Avoid waterproof products, eyeliners and mascaras, as they will make the lashes close-up, and you don't need the hassle trying to clean them properly. Extensions already create the volume, and with the new trends, you can now use the eyeliner effect as a choice.

Pencils, gels and cream eyeliners have sticky consistency that can dissolve the glue properties and gather debris, wherein time can cause eye irritation, causing lash extensions to slide off prematurelly from the natural lash.

So let's sum up all of the above. I gathered some cleansing routines for you to follow daily or after an event:

HOW TO KEEP LASHES CLEAN AFTER AN EVENT, WEDDING /NIGHT OUT

Every Day Cleaning

  1. Wet your face and  eyelashes with water.
  2. Apply a small amount of ROYALASH Squeaky Clean cleanser to an eyelash brush.
  3. Gently lather the foam cleanser to your lashes and right down to your eyelid for at least 5-10 seconds
  4. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
  5. Gently pat dry with a paper towel.
  6. Brush your lashes with a mascara wand.
  7. Enjoy clean lashes and fresher eyelids.

Pro Tip: If you're removing makeup after a night out, we recommend double cleansing the lashes to remove all the residues. First, cleanse will break down the heavy layer of powders or creams, such as foundation or concealers, as for the second, will remove the superficial layer still left on the lashes. Rinse well, and Voila!
